Julia Hazel Hayfield was born on May 9th, 1925 in Midwest, Wyoming to Edward G. and Farley V. Hayfield. She grew up and received her education in Midwest schools, graduating from Natrona County High School in Midwest with the class of 1943. After high school she worked five years for Standard Oil and Gas Company in Midwest. She worked for ten and a half years for Ohio Oil Company in Casper and for Amoco Corporation in Tulsa, Oklahoma for more than twenty years plus five and a half years with Amoco in Casper as a Senior Staff Assistant. She retired in 1986 after a long, successful career.

Throughout the years, Julia was active in the American Legion for eighty-one years, Oilerette Bowling League, the Union Congregational Church in Buffalo, BPWC, Desk and Derrick, and the Civil Air Patrol. She attended Casper College classes of interest such as painting and painted the Bighorn mountains beautifully. She played the piano and participated in chorus and choirs. Julia loved travel, music, and friends. In Julia’s own words: “I’ve always tried to do an honest day’s work and always was loyal to employers. I’ve been honest, trustworthy, sincere and tried to do unto others as I want them to treat me. I’ve tried to maintain a positive attitude at all times. I’ve tried to help others when possible if they wanted it. I’ve tried to be honest and truthful all my life. I’m slow to anger. It doesn’t take much to make me happy. I’ve been blessed with friends and pretty good health most of my life”. She wanted her family to know, that she learned something new every day, she was happy most of her life and cherished all her friends and family. She was independent and alone all her life and didn’t regret it. Julia had a beautiful smile that gave light to her face and everyone around. She was extremely proud to be a “Wyoming Gal.”

Julia is survived by her cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
