Funeral Services for John Coleman 76 year old Buffalo resident who passed away suddenly Tuesday morning at his home in Buffalo, will be held Saturday, February 16th at 10:00 a.m. at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor Court Riddle officiating. Visitation will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A private family interment will follow. Donations in John’s memory may be made to the Buffalo Lion’s Club in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. Online condolences may be made at www.harnessfuneralhome.com
John James Coleman Jr. was born on September 8, 1942 in Highland Park, Illinois to John and Hazel Coleman. He grew up and went to school in Highland Park and graduated from Highland Park High School with the class of 1960. After high school John took a job with the city of Highland Park as a policeman and also worked for the department of streets and sewers. In 1962 John went to work for the Highland Park Water Plant where he worked for the next 37 years and served as their main operator. He was married on April 8, 1978 in Highland Park to Marilyn Mack and they made their home in Lake Forest, Illinois. John retired from the Highland Park Water Plant in 1998 and in that same year they moved to Buffalo, Wyoming. John and Marilyn continued living in Buffalo until his death.
John was very active in the Buffalo Lion’s Club, and the local Ducks Unlimited Chapter. John was an avid hunter and loved hunting ducks and big game. John enjoyed shooting sports, reloading, fishing and spending time outdoors.
John is survived by his wife Marilyn of Buffalo; one son Kevin Coleman of Story, Wyoming; one daughter Stacey Moran and her husband Ed of Round Lake Beach, Illinois; two step-sons, Mark Mack and his wife Lu of Foster City, California and Dean Mack and his wife Lisa of Cape Coral, Florida and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
