Jacqueline was born on August 3, 1927 in Veteran, Wyoming to Oscar and Helen Guth. She grew up and went to school in Torrington, Wyoming and graduated from Torrington High School with the class of 1945. After high school she attended the Colorado Women’s College in Denver for one year and transferred to the University of Wyoming where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. While at the University of Wyoming she was accepted into Phi Gamma Nu, a professional business fraternity. She was married on June 14, 1948 in Torrington to William Perry and they made their home in Buffalo where Jackie worked for a short time as an editor at the Buffalo Bulletin. She later worked at the New York Store. Bill was called back into active duty with the U.S. Army and they moved to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where Jackie was active in the Fort Leonard Wood Officers Wives Club. In 1953 the couple moved back to Buffalo where Bill became the chief executive officer for Buffalo Federal Savings and Loan. Mr. Perry passed away in November of 2011 and Jackie continued living in Buffalo until her death.
Jackie was very active in the community and served on the Wyoming Youth Council, the advisory council for the Wyoming Recreation Commission and local music club. She served four years on the University of Wyoming Alumni Board of Directors and also served on the University of Wyoming Developmental Council. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Buffalo and St. Rose’s Catholic Church in Torrington and served as secretary on the Wyoming Council of Catholic Women. She was an active golfer and played with the Buffalo Golf Course Women’s League, as well as a close knit golf group who traveled and made fond memories together. She was a master at playing Bridge and played for years with her friends. Jackie was a compassionate animal lover who was always ready to rescue and find homes for neglected dogs; but her true passion in life was her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Kevin Perry of Gladstone, Missouri and Buffalo, Wyo; two daughters, Allyson Perry Landreville of Portland, Oregon and Tina Kleespies and her husband Les of Grand Junction, Colorado; one brother, Bill Guth of Torrington, Wyoming and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother.
