Funeral services for Big Ed Foust, 67-year-old Buffalo man who passed away suddenly Saturday morning while guiding hunters north of Leiter, Wyoming will be held Friday, September 21st at 2:00 p.m. at the Summit Wesleyan Church in Buffalo with Pastors William Dunlap and Donnie Paulson officiating. Visitation will be held at the Harness Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to follow the funeral. Donations in Ed’s name may be made to the Johnson County Family YMCA in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. Online condolences may be made at www.harnessfuneralhome.com
Edwin Norman Foust III was born on January 22, 1951 in Patterson, New Jersey to Edwin and Darlene Foust. He moved with is family to Missoula, Montana when he was a young child where he grew up and went to school. Living in various foster homes, Ed finished the 8th grade and was catapulted into the working world which led him to Anderson Motors Chevrolet in Helena, Montana. Within a year Ed started his own auto body business in East Helena along with working as a deputy sheriff for Lewis and Clark County, Montana. He was married on January 30, 1971 to Lois Lamping in East Helena and they made their home in East Helena where they started their family. Heidi was born in 1971 and Little Eddie in 1975. In 1980 they moved to Buffalo where he went to work for Weeden Homes and later for Pert’s Auto Body. He was divorced in 1985 and he was married on April 6, 1990 in Buffalo to Terry Beores and they made their home in Buffalo. In 1987 he and Terry started Ed’s Auto Body which they owned and operated until his death.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Buffalo Jaycees, the Buffalo Lion’s Club where he helped to originate the Annual Lion’s Club Fishing Derby. He was a member of the Model A Club, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Anchor Lodge #7 AF and AM. He was a licensed professional hunting guide and guided for Eddie Knudson and Grizzly Outfitters. Ed was a Life Member of the Wild Sheep Foundation and a Life Member of the NRA. Ed had a passion for helping children and gave generously to all Johnson County youth organizations and loved everything to do with cars and trucks.
Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman, a seasoned softball player, and bowled for many years. Ed was an avid golfer and built and raced Wissota Mod 4 race cars for several years. Ed enjoyed motorcycles, four-wheelers, mountain biking and rattle snake hunting. Anything that took Ed outdoors made him happy.
He is survived by his wife Terry Foust of Buffalo; one son Little Eddie Foust and his wife Katie of Buffalo; one daughter Jessica Foust of Buffalo; one brother Kris Koetting of Hawaii; two sisters Sherry Weeden and Daarin Parker and her husband Jeff all of Denver; two granddaughters, Ivy and Cadance Foust both of Buffalo. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Heidi in 1975.
