Funeral service for Bea “Garner” Ott, 94 year old Buffalo resident who passed away Monday January, 28th at the Johnson County Health Care Center in Buffalo, Wyoming will be held in the Spring at a time to be announced, from the Calllahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction, Colorado. A private family interment will follow. Donations in Bea’s memory may be made to Heirlooms for Hospice in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. Berniece Lorene Ott was born on December 8, 1924 in Maybelle, Colorado to Jesse and Myrtle White. She moved to Lovelock, Nevada where she graduated from Lovelock High School. After high school she attended St. Francis School of Nursing in San Francisco where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. She was married on July 16, 1946 in Lovelock to Claud Garner and they made their home in Lovelock where Bea was a nurse. Bea and Claud lived in various parts of California, Arizona, Wyoming and Colorado during their 48 years of marriage settling in Thermopolis in 1969 where she worked for Dr. Gitlitz as an office nurse.
Bea worked as a Registered Nurse until she was 77 years old and retired in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was a hospice volunteer until she was in her 90’s. Bea recently moved into the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo where she lived until her death.
Bea volunteered with Heirlooms for Hospice for fifteen years. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Bookcliff Southern Baptist Church and was an avid golfer and gardener.
She is survived by three sons, Steve Garner and his wife Kathy of Grand Junction, Colorado, Dave Garner of Cottonwood, Arizona and Curt Garner and his wife Cathy of Sedona, Arizona; one daughter Lin Sanford of Buffalo; nine grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one daughter-in-law Micki Garner.
