Bernadette Catherine Arno was born on January 23, 1936 in Buffalo, Wyoming to Bernard and Catherine Marton. She grew up and went to school in Johnson County and graduated from Johnson County High School with the class of 1954. After high school she attended the University of Wyoming for one year and then transferred to Loretto Heights College in Denver where she received a degree in business. She was married on July 25, 1959 in Buffalo to John Arno and they made their home on the family ranch on French Creek. In 1968 they bought a ranch south of Buffalo on Poison Creek, where they lived and raised their family. In 1988 John and Bernadette sold the ranch and moved into Buffalo where they lived until her death.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, CCW, the Wool Growers Association, Grey ladies for fourteen years and the Big Horn Basque Club. She volunteered at the Bread of Life Food Pantry and the Happy Apple. She also served on the Johnson County School Board for one term. She was an excellent cook, an avid reader and enjoyed playing Bridge. Her passion was traveling and spending time with her family. The entire family took four fabulous trips together, to Belize, Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel and Australia.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John Arno of Buffalo; one son Bill Arno of Sheridan; four daughters Celeste Besel of Buffalo, Annie Wollenzien and her husband Paul of Sheridan, Laurie Scantling and her husband Chip of Buffalo and Kellie Jensen and her husband Wayne of Buffalo, and thirteen grandchildren.
