Funeral services for Marna Eitel, 90 year old Kaycee resident who passed away late Tuesday evening in Buffalo, will be held Friday, April 12th at 10 a.m. from the Adams Funeral Home in Buffalo, Wyoming with Pastor Danny Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Moorcroft Cemetery in Moorcroft, Wyoming at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 12th. Visitation will be held from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 11th from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Marna Dorothy Eitel was born on September 5, 1922 in Thornton, Wyoming to RJ and Dorothy (Moore) Nicolen. Marna was the oldest of nine children. The family moved to Moorcroft where she attended school. On February 18, 1940 Marna married Vernon Eitel in Osage, Wyoming by a Justice of the Peace named John Q. Love. Vernon and Marna made their home in Moorcroft, Wyoming where they had three children: Delbert, Dorothy, and Della. Marna worked as the bookkeeper for the family business from 1955 until 1984. In 1964 Eitel Trucking moved to Kaycee, Wyoming with Black Hills Bentonite. Vernon passed away in 1981. Marna continued to live in Kaycee until November of 2009 when she moved to Park Place Assisted Living in Casper, Wyoming. In January of 2011 she moved to Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo, Wyoming where she lived until the time of her death.
Marna enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, making quilts, reading and walking. She also loved to travel.
She is survived by one son, Delbert Eitel and his wife Claudie of Kaycee, Wyoming, two daughters; Dorothy Vansant and her husband Jim of Van Buren, Arkansas and Della Long and her husband Harvey of Kaycee, Wyoming, one brother Les Nicolen, eight grand children, fourteen great grand children, ten great-great grand children, many nieces and nephews, three brother in laws and one sister in law. She is preceded in death by husband, her mother and father, her step father and step mother, one grandson, one great granddaughter, four sisters, and three brothers.
Donations in Marna's memory may be made to the Amie Holt Care Center in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.
