Larry Lee Menzie was born on April 6, 1944 in Artesia, California to Albert and Elka Menzie. He grew up and went to school in Bellflower, California and graduated from Paramount High School in Paramount, California with the class of 1962. In September of 1962 Larry joined the U.S. Airforce and served in France. He received an honorable discharge in February of 1966 and returned to California. He was married on March 25, 1979 in Reno, Nevada to Janet Pandorf and they made their home in Concord, California where Larry was a heavy duty and diesel mechanic at Oakland Harbor. Ill health forced him to retire and in June of 1988 they moved to Callaway, Nebraska where they lived for ten years. In 1998 they moved to Buffalo where they continued to live until his death.
He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a past member of the Bellflower Sportsman's Club. Larry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved to play cards, especially poker. He was a patented inventor who invented a locking mechanism for semi-trailer hitches.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Janet Menzie and one son Shaun Menzie of Hesperia, California. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
