He was married June 6, 1987 in Buffalo to Wanda Johnson and they made their home in Buffalo. Doug & Wanda owned and operated M & M Contracting and in 2003 they also founded the New Hope Worship Center in Buffalo, where Doug was the Pastor. In 2014 Doug and Wanda started and operated the Rollin’ Coals Barbeque restaurant until his death.

Doug was a Life Member of the NRA, he loved pig hunting in Texas and shooting with his family and friends, but his big passion was from his home in Buffalohis family and following all their events and performances.
